High-frequency acoustic emission measurement
for analyzing topography, material and intermediate medium changes
Topography, material and intermediate medium changes are indicators of friction and wear processes in tribosystems. Based on system parameters such as movement speed and surface characteristics, the SRV® Oscillation and Rotation Modules provide significant results for the occurrence of these in the ultrasonic range.
The relative movement of the surfaces of two test specimens stimulates sound waves in the audible and ultrasonic ranges. Both the intensity and spectral composition of the emitted sound waves vary depending on the topography, friction condition and intermediate medium. A frequency spectrum is generated from the continuous raw signal directly into the hardware.
